Volunteers Services & Opportunities

Athens-Limestone Hospital (ALH) is excited to announce the reinstatement of our Volunteer Program! We welcome anyone aged 16 and over to apply, whether you are looking for college service hours, to engage in the healthcare field or are seeking to serve your local community. We want to connect passionate people with meaningful volunteer opportunities and find new ways that community resources can help us continue to adapt, reset and reconnect.

Thank you for your interest in our volunteer opportunities at ALH; volunteer positions are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Applications are individually reviewed and assessed. While we cannot guarantee a specific placement, applicant preference will be taken into consideration when assigning tasks.

Volunteer Requirements & Opportunities

All persons interested in volunteering are required to complete a volunteer application, complete a brief volunteer interview to better understand interests and availability, as well as complete a background check and drug screen. Volunteers accepted into the program will also be required to attend an abbreviated orientation and meet all employee health requirements.

*Please Note: The COVID-19 vaccine is one of our mandatory immunizations. Since volunteering can only be started two weeks after your final vaccine (2nd dose of Pfizer or Moderna, 1st dose of J&J), obtaining the vaccine as soon as possible enables you to onboard more quickly and easily. If you elect to forego vaccination, a religious exemption form (completed by applicant) or medical exemption form (completed by your medical doctor) must be submitted to Human Resources. Covid-19 infection rates are continuously monitored; we will remain cognizant of current conditions and mindful of the safety of everyone involved. Volunteers will be required to adhere to all current safety measures implemented at ALH.

This program will help to develop skill sets, raise esteem, and build community awareness. Any student 16 and over can apply to be a volunteer.  The applicant will be expected to accept, understand and respect the confidential aspects of their assignment.
