The Pink Elephant Fund was established in 2007 to provide mammogram scholarships to residents of Limestone County who do not have medical insurance or whose insurance does not cover mammograms. Since then, the fund has grown to provide scholarships for mammograms, new technologies that detect breast cancer sooner and other women's health supplies.
Thanks to the City of Athens, you can also purchase a pink garbage can where proceeds benefit the Foundation’s Pink Elephant Fund.
Pink Elephant Luncheon 2019
The Glitz Gala is an annual event, held in April, designed to raise funds for the hospital. In 2018, the Foundation raised more than $80,000 for sleeper recliner chairs to use in the hospital. Funds from the 2019 Gala will go towards the purchase of a new Cardiac Ultrasound Machine for the hospital. Thank you for your support!
The Crystal Cup Golf Tournament is a three-man scramble held at Canebrake in Athens each year in September. In 2018 the Foundation raised approximately $20,000 that was used to purchase two bi-pap machines for the hospital. The 2019 Crystal Cup Tournament will be held on September 12, 2019 at Canebrake Country Club.
